Venturefest is a free event which will take place on Wednesday 1st March 2023 at the Eastside Rooms in Birmingham.

We are pleased to announce that this year's programme will include keynotes from:

West Midlands Mayor, Andy Street chair of the West Midlands Combined Authority which has significant powers over transport, housing, skills, and jobs. Before becoming Mayor, Andy combined a career with John Lewis, Britain’s most successful workers’ co-operative, with a host of high-profile economic development roles, working with local and national government.

Megan Goodwin a creative entrepreneur who started her career in marketing and business development for the incubated internet businesses at News International at the beginning of the digital revolution. Following this she spearheaded the digital development of ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’, her award-winning games went live in 60 countries. Megan leveraged this experience to raise seed funding to set up her own digital innovation business that created apps and games for some of the world’s biggest TV brands like Agatha Christie, Deal or no Deal, Strictly Come Dancing, Big Brother etc. Most recently, because of the video meeting boom and her black book of pioneers, Megan has launched The Vision which provides ‘‘pop up’ advisory boards’ powered by world-class diverse thinking experts to unlock new growth for businesses. She strongly advocates the use of technology to include and empower humanity

Being supported locally by business, universities, science parks and business support organisations Venturefest provides entrepreneurs, investors and innovators the chance to meet, engage and exchange ideas for co-operation and collaboration, particularly in the fields of science and emerging technologies.

Delegates will have the opportunity to join panel discussions, workshops and network in the exhibition area.

Running alongside Venturefest West Midlands for another year will be Minerva Birmingham Pitch Up, a pitching competition for business owners, giving a unique opportunity for businesses to raise their profile both in the West Midlands and in front of a national audience of investors. Business owners are invited to present their ideas in a pitch for investment and stand a chance of winning one of several awards.
