Thousands of accountants to assess impact of Autumn Statement at major Coventry event

Accountants from across the profession are set to head to Coventry later this month for a major event - where the profession will assess the economic impact and tax implications of the Chancellor’s Autumn Statement

AccountingWEB Live Expo takes place two weeks after Jeremy Hunt’s statement and will be the first major event for the accountancy industry after the statement.

It will take place on Wednesday, November 30 and Thursday, December 1 at Coventry Building Society Arena - with thousands of accountants from across the UK expected to be in attendance.

The conference will feature the opportunity to hear directly from HMRC, as well as more than 55 other sessions designed to help accountants pick up the latest insights, practical advice and guidance from industry leading experts.

Sessions will look at the economic impact of recent government announcements and review the tax implications, while also providing an early preview of the March 2023 Budget.

Key topics will include tax and compliance, innovation, tech and fintech, people and culture, and strategy and growth. Leading experts in their fields will curate a programme on each topic, including tax lecturer and author Rebecca Benneyworth MBE, small business expert Carl Reader, fintech expert Nick Levine, technology editor at AccountingWEB Tom Herbert, Mazuma co-founder Lucy Cohen and practice founder Alastair Barlow.

The show is set to welcome over 120 of the industry’s software vendors in an exhibition running alongside the comprehensive conference programme.

AccountingWEB Live Expo is organised by the UK’s leading website for accountants in practice and business - receiving on average 1.5 millon page views and 590,000 unique users per month.

Mike Goldsmith, Event Content Director at AccountingWEB Live Expo, said: “The 2022 expo will be the perfect blend of inspiring content, technical updates, leading suppliers and heated debate.

“The show will be the first opportunity for our industry to come together en-masse and discuss the implications of the Autumn Statement.

“We're introducing new formats this year, we’re promoting new speakers, increasing the networking opportunities across both days, plus making sure that the topics we feature are laser-targeted to meeting the challenges of 2023.

“HMRC will be at the show and we are sure that delegates will have a myriad of questions to ask them.

“We’re expecting to attract accountants and finance professionals from across the country to the event and are pleased to be returning to Coventry Building Society Arena.”
