Nuneaton social care company which supports adults with learning disabilities finds new home after four-year search

A social care company which supports adults with learning disabilities in north Warwickshire has ended its four-year search for a new home.

Individual Support Solutions (ISS), which provides a range of services for adults with learning disabilities and autism in north Warwickshire, will move into a newly refurbished facility at Manor Court Chambers in Attleborough Fields Industrial Estate, Nuneaton, in a deal supported by Holt Commercial.

ISS, which has 110 employees, has invested around £100,000 to fully furnish the 4,000 sq ft ground floor premises and make it fit for purpose, complete with a disabled toilet and changing facilities, sensory room, activity rooms, offices and a large training room.

The company was set up in 2011 by Alison Malcolm and Sarah O’Shaughnessy, and had been operating its day service, supported living services and head office from Powell House in Nuneaton town centre.

The company had been looking for a suitable alternative base since 2019, when its original site was identified for demolition as part of a regeneration programme for the area.

The new facility will be used to support around 50 people to do a variety of activities throughout the week both building based and in the local community.

Sarah said: “We are thrilled to finally be relocating ISS to newly refurbished premises after a lengthy search, and are very excited about the potential that this new site offers across all aspects of our services.

“We have worked closely with the people who use our service and our staff, and are currently carrying out a complete refurbishment of the ground floor to ensure our new premises meets all of our needs.

“While the new space will allow us to host all kinds of activities and essential services, as well as performing our head office function, the move is a great opportunity to encourage more interaction between our customers and the public, as we will be sharing the building itself with the current first-floor occupants who have made us feel very welcome.”

The Attleborough Fields Industrial Estate is located one mile south east of Nuneaton town centre. Manor Court Chambers has 61 car parking spaces, air conditioning throughout, LED lighting and a modern reception area.

Alison added: “I found the support that Edward Jenkinson at Holt Commercial provided invaluable. He kept in regular contact, communicated with all parties involved and made the whole process seamless.”

Edward Jenkinson, Senior Surveyor at Holt Commercial, said: “We are extremely pleased to have been able to help Sarah and Alison find a suitable new home for ISS.

“The company provides a fantastic community service, and this move demonstrates an excellent use of the space just outside of Nuneaton town centre.”
