Funding available to kick start community cost of living projects

Warwick District Council is urging local not for profit groups to access funding made available for community initiatives to help vulnerable households and individuals who are struggling with the effects of the cost-of-living crisis.

Applications are now open for a ‘Cost of Living Fund’ with grants of up to £3000 available to support projects and activities in the community, which are targeted at those who are experiencing financial hardship or need help with day-to-day functions from getting a hot meal to finding children’s activities.

Warwick District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Health and Community Protection, Councillor Judith Falp commented:

“The Council is fully aware of the devastating effect that rising costs are having on the most vulnerable in our society. We are therefore pleased that we have been able to source funding which will enable local voluntary groups to either continue the immensely valuable work they are already doing or to set up a new project or scheme that could make a significant impact.”

“The funding criteria is deliberately broad to give groups or organisations be they large or small the opportunity to submit their proposals for a wide range of potential projects.”
