Coombe Abbey issues message to customers following Mother's Day demand

A historic Coventry hotel is pulling out all the stops for local mums this Mother’s Day – and has shared a warning for those looking to book Easter events.

Coombe Abbey Hotel, operated by No Ordinary Hospitality Management (NOHM), has urged people looking to celebrate Easter at the venue to book early with 2023 proving to be a stand-out year for event bookings at the 12th century venue.

Despite Coombe’s Michael Bublé-inspired musical afternoon tea selling out weeks in advance, NOHM is ensuring that families who want to celebrate Mother’s Day at the venue will still have multiple ways to show their love.

With dining for Sunday, March 19 set to be snapped up, NOHM’s Thank Coombe It's Friday package still gives you the chance to celebrate.  This deal for two offers guests an evening meal in the Garden Room Restaurant, a one-night stay in a Crown Bedchamber and a full English breakfast the next day.

A Steak, Wine and Stay package is also available, running on selected dates throughout the year in the historic Cloisters dining room, while No Ordinary Sunday includes an overnight stay in a Crown bedchamber, a bottle of house wine, and a full English breakfast.

In-house florists Flowers at Coombe are also on hand to make Mother’s Day extra special with personalised bouquets, for collection at the hotel or local delivery.

For those who missed out on Mother’s Day with Michael Bublé, Music from the Movies on April 6 and 14 invites guests to enjoy Coombe Abbey’s signature afternoon tea soundtracked by live singing from its in-house entertainers.

Taking place in the Marquee, guests can indulge in finger sandwiches, and freshly made cakes and pastries and soak up iconic sounds from some of the best-loved movies across the decades.

Families and large groups can also make the most of the occasion with an Easter Sunday edition of Coombe Abbey’s We Cook, You Carve experience.

Available in a selection of private dining rooms, expertly prepared roasted meats are served at the table with all the trimmings as part of a three-course menu.

Ron Terry, Group Operations Director at NOHM, said: “With 2023 proving to be a bumper year for seasonal celebrations at Coombe Abbey Hotel, we want to make sure as many people as possible have the chance to enjoy our renowned atmosphere and service on special days.

“The huge interest in our Mother’s Day events has followed a trend set over Christmas, New Year’s, and Valentine’s Day, with people from right across the region picking Coombe Abbey as the place to celebrate with loved ones.

“We think this is because we are unique in our ability to offer high quality and high value, and we are looking forward to helping hundreds celebrate Mother’s Day before turning our attention to the Easter holidays.”

Fellow NOHM venue St Mary’s Guildhall is also celebrating Mother’s Day in its unique restaurant space in the heart of Coventry’s cathedral quarter, with live singing from Chelsie Jade and a brand-new brunch menu at its Tales of Tea restaurant. Mums will also get free entry to St Mary’s Guildhall on March 19.
