Polymer Innovation Network: When Plastic met Metal
Organiser
Our Polymer Innovation Network (PIN) event returns on Wednesday 11th October 2017, 6.15pm - 8.30pm with an interesting event which aims to explore the best of both worlds when metals and plastics combine.
We are pleased to confirm WMG's Professor Gordon Smith as Guest Speaker who will share his expertise on plastic processing with metals. Our industry speaker will be confirmed shortly.
As usual, we're inviting expressions of interest from those who would like to deliver a two-minute PIN 'hotshot' on a particular product or service of their choice, related to the theme.
For those new to PIN, it's a unique networking event for all users, makers and processors of plastic and has successfully brought this important community together to help bridge the gap between industry and R&D.
Based at WMG's impressive International Institute for Product and Service Innovation at the University of Warwick, in Coventry, PIN now boasts over 500 active members.
We now wish to extend this opportunity to colleagues within the Metals Industry and allow them to develop a similar network facility. This will provide a substantial contact capability between industry and the cutting edge development happening within WMG. Through the WMG SME Group, it will provide access to expert help and technology to provide modern solutions to old problems. Please use this network as an opportunity to challenge us with your metal and materials based issues.
Find out about the latest materials research from WMG, current industry trends and future technologies whilst meeting and collaborating with other likeminded businesses and colleagues from the WMG SME Group.
The Agenda will follow this outline (look out for updates as we get nearer to event time):
- 6.15pm Arrival and registration, food and drinks
- 6.45pm Welcome & Introduction Dr Paul Milne, WMG, University of Warwick
- 6.50pm Professor Gordon Smith, WMG Research Consultant - Plastic processing with metals
