Rail Live prides itself on the fact that it brings our supply chain to life, showcasing the capability and prowess of so many companies delivering vital services to the sector. Offering the unique opportunity to see real live demos in a real rail setting the show is so much more than your typical trade fair.
We still recognize though that there is an imperative to provide access to information that cannot be demonstrated by a pile driver or a tamping machine and for that reason the Business Zone is back this year to serve as a hub for advice, networking and tailored meetings.
Sponsored by Lloyds Bank, and adjacent to the members’ marquee, the Axis Networking Hub and the RAIL conference marquee this central area of the show is dedicated to providing information and access to organizations that can really help companies on a practical level.
This area within the show will be a unique location with the involvement of exhibitors that are specialists within their field , but that embody and support the major workstreams of the Rail Supply Group thus providing support that replicates the industry’s ambitions at all levels. The Business Zone therefore will provide information and guidance across the fields of innovation, skills, trade and investment and creating conditions for growth.
For those looking for trade advice on the international market we are delighted to see the Department for International Trade’s Midlands team return to the show, accompanies by UK Export Finance and HMG’s Intellectual Property Office. The DIT will be alongside the Midlands Engine, through whom you can learn about the region’s capabilities and investment opportunities, and for those seeking funding the Rail Supply Group and the Rail Supply Growth Fund (Finance Birmingham) will be exhibiting to explain how the Fund will provide access to affordable finance to increase the capability, competiveness and productivity of businesses either currently operating in the rail supply sector or for businesses aiming to enter it through crossover products and services.
Echoing this support for innovation and investment companies can also use the Business Zone to access information on the RSSB’s Test Voucher Scheme and Rail Mentor – both supporting and proving that cross-sector technology is both in demand and that there are means through which companies can access subsidized testing or diversification advice. The IMechE’s Rail division will also be on hand, as will the EEF to provide practical advice on myriad topics. Next to skills we are equally delighted to welcome back NSAR with whom the Rail Alliance works closely to promote the NSAR-Connect Placement Service that provides employers with candidates who have successfully been through an industry-leading assessment process.
Crucial to the successes of all the RSG’s workstreams are our up and coming workforce, and the Young Rail Professionals will also be exhibiting to explain how they can help companies and individuals excel in the sector.
Last but by no means least, Lloyds Bank. Lloyds Bank plays an increasingly crucial role in the rail landscape be that through its new business charter, which is focused on helping businesses export, improve their digital skills, and fulfil their growth ambitions or through the Coventry MTC, a training centre aimed at redressing the manufacturing skills gaps. Lloyds bank will be proving expert advice on its vast array of products and services assisting companies in rail and/or the high value manufacturing sectors, and are headline sponsors of the business zone.
