The lockdown imposed as a consequence of COVID-19, inevitably means businesses which cannot or could not operate (or whose operations are restricted), should now consider whether their losses are recoverable under any business interruption insurance policy they hold.

It is becoming apparent however, that some insurers are providing a less than positive response to claims and have concluded that business interruption claims made on the basis of losses arising from COVID-19, are not covered.

In this webinar, we will explore the aims of the Financial Conduct Authority’s proposed court action in relation to business interruption insurance policies, what triggers the insurance, and we’ll provide some practical steps that can be taken in order to prepare to submit a claim and /or respond to an insurer’s rejection of any claim.
