Birmingham 2022’s contractors play a vital role in the delivery and staging of the Commonwealth Games and they need a variety of personnel. [1]
Exclusively for Restart Scheme Participants, this jobs fair will introduce hundreds of work-ready jobseekers to Commonwealth Games contractors who are offering a variety of roles across sectors.
Also in attendance will be employability specialists from Serco’s network of delivery partners to support jobseekers, Serco’s Employer Engagement team to support employers, and DWP Jobcentre Plus representatives.

Time: 10:00 - 16:00 (Employers to arrive for 9:15 set-up and welcome | Participants will be offered a convenient timeframe to attend)

What’s on Offer:
For Participants: The Commonwealth Games provides ample opportunity to explore new job markets or return to a sector in which you have experience. This event is designed exclusively for these jobseekers to explore the roles that are available in the lead-up, during and after the Commonwealth Games. This is their opportunity to meet employers in the room and learn more about what each role entails.
Employers in the room will be representing these key sectors:
- Security
- Stewarding
- Catering
- Hospitality
- Cleaning
- Admin
- Retail
- Maintenance
- Logistics
Transport may be arranged for Participants to the venue on agreement with their Restart Scheme Job Coach.
For Employers: We are offering employers in-the-room introductions to hundreds of work-ready jobseekers; sourced from our dedicated network of employability specialists. All jobseekers in attendance are currently undertaking pre-employability training, coaching and development, proving their commitment to securing meaningful employment. Our dedicated Employer Engagement Coordinators will be on hand throughout the day to proffer advice and guidance about any recruitment challenges that employers face. We look forward to welcoming businesses on the day.
