Developing Your Personal Skills For Work Success

Running a business, leading a team, or managing remote colleagues is not just about technical skill and knowledge, but also demands good personal skills and awareness, knowing your own strengths and areas of potential development, and working on these.

This workshop is aimed at anybody who wants to increase their work effectiveness, and is curious to understand their own strengths and areas for development.

We know that key success factors for individuals at work include:

  • Enabling people to work to their strengths
  • Understanding the different ways people work in teams
  • Being able to solve problems effectively, engage the creativity of themselves and colleagues – and get the best results from teams!
  • Being a good communicator, able to inspire the best in people

In this workshop we will work with the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), a respected and widely researched ‘Personality Inventory’. Topics include:

  • Understanding how you are energised, either by action or reflection – or both
  • Exploring the value of information gathered either through the senses, or through intuition – the ‘sixth sense’
  • Making sense of different ways of reaching conclusions and making decisions, the value of both rationality and feeling in this process
  • Understanding why you may be either structured and organised in your work, or more fluid and ‘last-minute’.

You will work with a trainer who has managed teams and led organisations in several business sectors, managing an SME for the last 20 years. In the last 14 years he has worked with Airbus teams and individuals in the UK, Europe, and China. Ian is an experienced coach, an expert in personal development and has worked with a wide range of clients.
