To say that the last year has been tough is an understatement. Come and join us for open discussion, a dose of optimism, and practical commitment to action. There is an urgent conversation we need to have about the future of our high streets and town centres - both now as we unlock and into the future.

We all know our town centres need to be destinations that are about more than shops but places for sociability and belonging if they are to recover now and sustain into the future.

Grapevine believes that many of the social connections we’ve missed and lost since Covid began will be rekindled and rebuilt in and around our businesses. It’ll be conversations over cups of coffee in cafes, over drinks in pubs, between cashiers and customers at tills and between people in your aisles. From here Coventry has the opportunity to truly build a better, kinder, flourishing future.

What are your dreams and hopes for Coventry’s high streets and city centre in the months and years to come? What is your vision for thriving, connected urban places where people come together, forge relationships and feel like they belong whoever they are?

We’ll look at two big questions:

  • How do we improve our recovery prospects by making sure behind our shop fronts, the door opens onto a range of experiences for socialising and belonging?
  • How can we make sure connection sociability and belonging are hard wired into reimagining the futures of our high streets and suburban core?
