Last chance to put forward City of Culture merchandise ideas

Time is running out for businesses and individuals who want to propose ideas for merchandise that will embrace and celebrate Coventry’s UK City of Culture brand.

Coventry City of Culture Trust recently issued a callout to manufacturers, makers, artists, suppliers and artisans across the region as it is preparing to sell a range of products that will carry its new brand and will be available to purchase from its online store.

The Trust is asking for expressions of interest from suppliers locally and regionally, to create a range that is creative, playful, sustainable, and affordable and which can be produced within socially distanced and fair pay conditions.

The Trust needs to hear from high volume manufacturers and smaller, independent makers and artists by 5pm on Monday, July 6, via an online form.

Martin Sutherland, of the Coventry City of Culture Trust, said: “We want the merchandise associated with Coventry 2021 to reflect our values and to be playful, fun and produced sustainably.

“We’ve had strong interest since we made the initial call out and with expressions of interest needed before July 6, we are making a final call for ideas ahead of the deadline.”

Expressions of Interest are open now. To find out more, and submit an idea, go to www.coventry2021.co.uk/merchandise
