This workshop is aimed at individuals with responsibility for directly creating an organisational culture that assesses individual motivation and engagement and ensures that individuals and teams are empowered to deliver results.

What: Leading People

When: Tuesday 8th October, 1:00pm - 4:30pm

Where: Business Innovation Centre, Harry Weston Road, Binley, Coventry, CV3 2TX

Engagement is created from 3 crucial elements:

The motivation and alignment of people to a common cause
The desire to contribute more of ourselves
The support we give to and receive from others.

Managers and leaders cannot directly control the engagement of others. However, they can create the environment where employees and teams motivate and engage themselves.

Research has comprehensively shown that the main drivers that motivate people are:

Trust in all levels of the organisation
Alignment of purpose
Autonomy (giving people more space and responsibility for their work)
Mastery – everyone wants to improve; the organisation’s job is to help people improve
Support and encouragement.

We use information from the Gallup Employee Engagement Survey, in particular questions from the Gallup Q12 Index, as a basis for an exploration of what can be done in the organisation to steadily build motivation and engagement.

The theory is simple and well researched, and so the workshop consists of a number of structured activities designed to establish practical steps that will enable the delivery of better business results. This will of necessity include inputs from individuals and teams.

Eligibility

These workshops are delivered as part of the Business Ready programme to support tech based and knowledge intensive small businesses, with high growth potential based in the Coventry & Warwickshire LEP area.

This project is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund, forming part of the CW Business: Start, Grow and Scale Programme.
