Coventry University specialises in supporting the health and wellbeing of your employees, offering training, education and information on how productivity can be maximised through improved mental health and wellbeing initiatives. This event will explore techniques on how you can implement small but effective changes to support your employees. Suitable for small to large organisations, our academic experts, will share the latest thinking and tips from their research.  

This event is aimed at businesses of any size to learn about how they can help improve the health and wellbeing of their workforce. Coventry University is proud to provide practical knowledge from its research and industry collaborations, to help improve the productivity and success of businesses in the local area.  

Delegates will gain insights into practical ways to help improve their workforce health and wellbeing and have the opportunity to engage with experts in the area.

9.30am - 9.40am - Welcome to the Event – Overview of Mental Health Productivity Pilot, Adam Layland

Coventry University, alongside the University of Warwick and the West Midlands Combined Authority, is leading a pilot programme over the next three years to improve mental health and productivity across the midlands area. Find out more about this initiative and how you can become involved.

9.40am - 10.00am - How sports can enhance your business and staff mental health Looking at the Sports Partnerships, Dr Sam Oxford

Sporting activities are a great way to engage your workforce and not only has physical benefits to employees but greatly improves their mental health too. Hear about the initiatives Coventry University has with many sports clubs and how we are supporting the British Transplant Games in Coventry next year.

10.00am - 10.20am - Agile working for your workforce: what're the benefits? Dr Christine Grant

Dr Grant’s research has demonstrated the many ways in which operating an agile workforce can improve productivity and engagement within your organisation.

10.20am - 10.40am - Tips to help improve your staff wellbeing, Dr Karen Maher

What are the best things to do to help improve your staff wellbeing? We’ll share with you the top tips available from tried and tested areas.

10.40am - 11.00am - Q&A with refreshments and networking

11.00am - 11.45am - Laughter Yoga Session: supporting wellbeing in your workplace, Dr Martin Bollard and Louise Gates

Take part in our taster session exploring the physiological and psychological benefits of laughter yoga.

11.45am - Health Checks

We will be offering free health checks to all attendees and specialist advice from our academics and practitioners.
