Design for Manufacture and New Product Introduction (CWBF 2019)

Saltisford Canal Trust
Budbrooke Road, Warwick CV34 5RJ
United Kingdom

This presentation and workshop will look to help those who are looking to manufacture a product for the first time. Often manufacturing is considered far too late in a project and a lot of the cost down opportunities or capital investment implications are missed. Matthew Statham is a chartered manufacturing engineer who spent his career both in the automotive and in small manufacturing companies before founding his own business 14 years ago helping companies take their ideas into production. With a wealth of experience in a variety of product manufacturing processes, Matthew offers valuable insights to those starting a business without an existing supply chain and manufacturing infrastructure.

The session is aimed at startup or small businesses looking to move their product from concept into the manufacture and wishing to reduce upfront investment/production costs, avoid costly mistakes and project delays!

Attendees will gain:

How to plan for product cost reduction effectively and early.
A better understanding of the stages to take a product into manufacture.
A clearer picture of timing and cashflow implications associated with manufacturing your new product.

Introduction to the principles of design for manufacture
Elements of new product introduction
2 Case studies
