Engineering firm in major expansion after funding deal

A Warwick firm that provides solutions for high performance engineering industries has undergone a major expansion.

R53 Engineering will broaden its services and develop more of its own products after a move to the Heathcote Industrial Estate.

The company, which works with big industry names such as McLaren, the Ministry of Defence and Bentley, was able to move thanks to being awarded a grant of nearly £35,000 from Warwickshire County Council after guidance from the CWLEP Growth Hub and business mentor and account manager, Jaymie Thakordas, as well as from the University of Warwick Science Park.

It allowed the business to move to a larger facility and also for the new premises to be developed with an R&D room, vehicle prototype area and expanded office area as well.

This is just the first step in growth plans for the R53 Engineering, which will also create more jobs in the near future.

Roger Estrada from R35 Engineering, said: “The advice and support offered by Jaymie and the Growth Hub has put us on the right path for where we want to take R53 Engineering.

“She was there every step of the way and we could not have done this without the guidance that they offered.

“The funding and relocation has meant that we can now push forward with our expansion plans which include developing more of our own products.

“At the moment, we are working on our own suspension product for vehicles and now we will also be able to offer further services to clients and partners.

“I would definitely recommend that any business in need of help get in touch with the CWLEP Growth Hub to find out what the team can do for them.”

R53 Engineering has more exciting projects and collaborations with other blue chip companies planned down the line.

Jaymie Thakordas added: “Roger and the R53 team had ambitious plans for the future with their own products and services.

“But do to this, the company needed to expand and so the Growth Hub was able to offer support, advice and help to overcome this issue and move the business forward.

“We were able to guide Roger and the team to access funding from Warwickshire County Council and the application was successful.”

David Ayton-Hill, from Warwickshire County Council, said: "R53 are just the type of small business with strong growth potential that the county council's small capital growth fund was designed to support, and it is great to see how this company is utilising this funding.

“Now R53 Engineering can move things forward to the next phase of its growth and development, and the Growth Hub will continue to help with this.”
